ISCEA Mission Overview
ISCEA will deliver breakthrough science with SmallSat technology solutions:
- ISCEA will map 22 different galaxy clusters
- > 140 galaxies in each deep field cluster, spectroscopy & imaging - simultaneously
- > 500 galaxies in each wide field cluster, spectroscopy & imaging - simultaneously
- ISCEA is an ESPA-class SmallSat mission with a 25cm aperture 0.32 deg2 FOV telescope and multi-object 0.9 to 1.7 µm NIR multi-channel Spectrograph and Imaging Instrument
- ISCEA uses a DMD to simultaneously obtain R=1000 "slit" spectra for >500 galaxies while also capturing images for pointing control, calibration, and target selection
- Arc-second pointing (1.8" at 3 sigma over 200 seconds) using SwRI instrument “Guide Star” technology combined with BCT high performance pointing algorithms and ultra-low jitter reaction wheels
- Full complete mission < $35M plus NASA provided launch
